Academic from Dalhousie University is at the Faculty to Continue Working on Curriculum Design in English Language

This process is carried out by the Vice-deanery for Academic Affairs and the Curriculum Harmonization and Technological Graduate Program, in collaboration with the Internationalization Program of the faculty.
In 2017, Dalhousie University (Canada) signed an agreement with our University and Faculty to offer training in English courses development and delivery for engineering academics. The agreement aims to support the Faculty in strengthening engineering education using English language and the quality of learning.
Since November 2018, the academics of the Faculty of Engineering have developed the online modules of the "Professor Training Program for Teaching in English", which ended in January 2019 with an in-person session lectured by PhD Shazia Nawaz from Dalhousie University.
Now, in order to implement the new stage of this program, PhD Ayesha Mushtaq from the same university, arrived to Chile for one month to work with academics in curriculum design. Vice Dean Muñoz, who coordinates this activity, emphasizes the interest of academics on moving forward to the application of new methodologies for knowledge transfer. "The first stage came up with the conclusion that to bring curriculum modifications in English language to the classroom, we would need to reinforce the first stages of the implementation. Therefore, we can reach other academics and include teaching assistants to make the contribution of PhD Mushtaq worth. Each academic is bringing a specific content of their classes, so we are talking about a specific product," stated.
Mushtaq would be in an intensive 1-month period and would be part of an upcoming Faculty of Engineering event on internationalization of the curriculum.
